MeToo #ThisIsNotConsent

Press Invitation: Slutwalk Hong Kong 2018

Stop Sexual Violence! Stop Victim Blaming! #MeToo #ThisIsNotConsent

Date: 2018 December 2 (Sunday)
Time:3:00 pm
Address:The Court of Final Appeal, Central (marching to Lan Kwai Fong)

Recently in Hong Kong, the first #MeToo case brought before Hong Kong’s courts ended in disappointment. According to the SCMP, the athlete “faced a vicious attack on social media, with users calling her names, accusing her of defamation and demanding an apology.” In Ireland, a 17 year-old victim was blamed for wearing a thong, prompting #ThisIsNotConsent. It is this victim blaming that we have been protesting against since 2011, and this year, we will march again to say No to sexual violence and victim blaming and Yes to supporting victims. We support the #MeToo and #ThisIsNotConsent movements.

*Angie Ng, founder of SlutWalk Hong Kong and one of the people on BBC’s 100 Women 2017 list, will be there.
